The delivery
If you decide to have your baby in the Birthing Clinic, then we talk to you beforehand about what your wishes are. If you come to the Birthing Clinic at an early stage of the delivery, then you are still well approachable and we can discuss with you and your partner what you find comfortable.
During the delivery, everything is focused on a good and safe delivery for you, your baby and your partner. Everything is done in close cooperation with your midwife.
Facilities:
- 2 delivery rooms, each with a large bathtub
- Delivery couch with all modern conveniences or an electric bed that can be raised and lowered.
- Nearly every room has its own bathroom.
- Cable television
- DVD player
- Internet connection
- Room service
Tip!
A warm bath works well to cushion the labor pains. You may also choose to give birth in the bath, but only if you are comfortable with it. You don’t have to do anything you do not want to do.
Quiet surroundings
The lights can be dimmed in both rooms. A restful atmosphere is important during the birthing process. All of the delivery rooms are furnished in a restful and homelike style. You may also bring your own music, watch television or put in a DVD.
Guidance
The delivery will take place under the guidance of your own midwife or – if the Birthing Clinic is too far for her or there are other circumstances – by another midwife. Please refer to the links for the midwives who work with us.
The Birthing Clinic maternity nurse assists the midwife during the delivery and makes sure that everything else goes well and according to your wishes.
When should you come?
You may come to the Birthing Clinic when you go into labor. You do not have to wait until, for example, you are dilated a specific number of centimeters. Every woman is different and some women are still comfortable at home and want to go through part of their labor there. Others, however, feel more secure if they go to the Birthing Clinic at the onset of labor. Your midwife will notify the Birthing Clinic that you are coming and we will make sure that your room is ready for you.
